Worked with Reno company and ID before, however first time renovating a resale apartment. Evaluated 8 Reno companies on their history and past projects, and also assigned ID experience and priced proposal. Shortlisted to 3 on final proposal and finally selected Weiken & Jake Chew to be the most qualified among the 8 companies to meet our needs.
Design and reno went smoothly over 14 weeks without too much issues, meeting tight schedules and last minute changes despite site challenges , existing structures, fixtures, etc. Pleased with the results outcome on the quality and workmanship supplied. However wasn’t too pleased with the variation and omissions on additional charges which was expected to be standard work and inclusion in the detailed proposal, felt this was an industry practice to charge extra after confirmed priced proposal. On hindsight, it would have been wise to check and confirm all proposed work in detail and supply scope before proceeding with contract agreement. Would be more careful if we do appoint a reno ID to renovate a resale apartment in future.
